Questions from mentors
Do I need previous mentoring experience? +
Not at all. Many of our mentors join for the first time. We'll guide you through the programme and provide all the information you need.
How much time does mentoring require? +
Approximately 1–2 hours per week during a three-month programme, including regular meetings with your mentee.
Do I need to speak Ukrainian? +
No. Most mentoring takes place in English or German, depending on the mentor and mentee.
How are mentor–mentee pairs matched? +
Our team carefully matches mentors and mentees based on professional background, career goals, industry, language, and expectations. Our goal is to create a partnership where both mentor and mentee can benefit from the experience.
What if there's no suitable mentee for me right now? +
Matching depends on the mentees applying in a given wave. If we don't find a fit immediately, we'll keep you informed and match you as soon as a suitable mentee joins a future wave.
Can I choose my mentee? +
Our team usually shares one carefully selected mentee profile, or occasionally two suitable profiles, for your review before confirming the match. This allows you to get to know your potential mentee while ensuring a thoughtful and balanced matching process.
Can I mentor remotely? +
Yes. Most mentoring sessions take place online, although many mentor–mentee pairs also choose to meet in person.
What kind of support will I receive? +
Our team stays in touch throughout the programme, organises webinars and networking events, and is always available if you have questions or need support.

My mentee found a job. What happens to our pair? +
Usually the pair continues. We encourage mentees who find work to stay, because the first months in a new role and the probation period are when mentoring helps most — the focus of your conversations simply shifts. If your mentee does decide to finish early, tell your coordinator: we look for another mentee for you from the candidates waiting for a match.
Can I mentor two mentees at once? +
Yes. Some of our mentors take two mentees in the same wave. Tell your coordinator if you would like to, and bear in mind the time commitment roughly doubles — plan on one to two hours a week per mentee.
